Innovation and healthy growth accompany us on our path to success.

What is considered perfect today may well have become the norm tomorrow. Sustainability is not a status quo but a process. So if you want to create real added value for your customers, you have to keep moving forward. Otherwise, customers will start to manufacture everything in-house. Our history shows that we are constantly evolving and that we can provide this added value.

1984

Bernhard Stegner establishes the foundation for perfection in Contwig – with the founding of MEC Elektronische Komponenten GmbH.

1996

With the advent of the first quality management systems, expectations in the EMS sector are also rising. As a show of confidence for our customers that we can meet these requirements, we take care to obtain our first certification very early on: DIN ISO 9001.

2003

While “pressure” from the outside to continuously evolve may be helpful, the motivation is always stronger when it comes from within. This inner urge for perfection finally leads us to obtain the first certification in accordance with DIN ISO/TS 16949.

2004

Our high quality quickly becomes well known: increasing order numbers, especially in our core area, the production of electronic components, make it necessary for us to expand our production lines. With the new building on the Koppenhagener Ring in Zweibrücken, we now have an additional 1,000 m² of production space at our disposal.

2005

Thanks to our company’s rapid and healthy growth, we can invest in further competencies. Purchases of a first panel testing machine as a well as an automated and force-travel-monitored pin pressing machine are the result. In addition, thanks to the recruitment of further personnel, we now have 20 employees.

2006

The demands on our internal processes also grow with the size of the company. In order not to waste valuable resources and to better structure our processes, we introduce the INFOR ERP system, which allows us to invest in another system – our first fully automatic depaneling machine.

2007

Additional order volumes from satisfied customers lead us to purchase a coating system, a laser as well as several new SMT automatic placement machines.

2008

In order to meet the needs of our company’s size and the current market requirements, we purchase a SAP software and an X-ray system.

2011

The fact that our company now has 50 employees and a consistently positive order situation make it necessary for us to open our second plant in Blieskastel/Alschbach. Thanks to the additional 500 m² of production space, including a selective soldering system with inline AOI, we can fulfil all additional orders.

2014

Our good reputation in conjunction with rapid growth makes us attractive not just to customers. As a result, MEC Elektronische Komponenten GmbH is taken over by Dr. Hans-Joachim Huber and Manuel Deimel.

2015

The internal consequence of this takeover is the merger of the two sites into our current company building on the Straßburger Ring in Zweibrücken. We now have 3,000 m² of production space and 100 employees. As if that were not reason enough to celebrate, a nomination for the “Großer Preis des Mittelstandes [Grand Prize for Midsized Enterprises]” really is the icing on the cake.

2016

A second nomination for the “Grand Prize for Midsized Enterprises” shows that our added value really is bringing us long-term success within the industry as a whole. This also makes us attractive for professionals and talented people: our operating family grows to 130 employees.

2017

Expertise requires a confident demeanour: a new website and communication measures in a corporate look provide the appropriate high-quality packaging for our contents.

2019

Investments in the future: henceforth, a new coating line including a UV drying oven from the manufacturer Nordson, further milling machines from ASYS, an extension to the ERSA selective soldering system as well as a new SPEA state-of-the-art ICT tester now form part of the machine park.

2021

Introduction of iqs CAQ software, which covers all levels of quality assurance from planning to production testing to the evaluation of the quality indicators.

2022

Growth: an additional NXT3 SMD assembly line from the manufacturer Fuji now forms part of our production, including 3D AOI testing and an SPI inspection system.

2023

Our customer base is expanding – despite the COVID-19 pandemic and economic crisis! Thanks to increased sales campaigns in recent years, we have been able to constantly win new customers and projects. The number of employees rises to 180, and a new ASYS milling machine, which can equip customer-specific packaging thanks to its fully automatic handling system, has been installed in the machine park. In addition, another high-speed pin insertion machine, an Autosplice AIS5000, was purchased.

2024

This year we are also busy investing, namely in a new inventory management system: from now on, the components will be picked quickly and easily using a paternoster system. In the X-ray department, a new Viscom X8011 X-ray machine was purchased, and an investment in a fifth SMD assembly line is imminent.
